The PoliMi Summer Break 2025 program offers intensive cross-disciplinary workshops and field activities organized by the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano at the beginning of June, open to PoliMi and visiting students.

Returning for its second edition in June 2025, Politecnico, in collaboration with Aalto University and TU Delft, will offer a program consisting of a combination of design activities on the topic of Peace. The program is connected to the SDG 16: “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels”. The urgency on the matter arises from the contemporary context of societal conflicts, where wars and critical climate changes require an effort to find sustainable solutions in a convivial and dialogical setting.

The Summer School is one of the initiatives in preparation of the Participatory Design Conference 2026: Peace, Dialogue, Coexistence (https://www.pdc2026.org/). As such, it will be one of the PDC Places.

The program offers two intertwined workshops, one led by Andrea Botero (Aalto University) and the other by Ingrid Mulder & Rebecca Price (TU Delft), preceded by online activities and field experience curated by Anna Meroni and Chiara Alberti (Polimi). The program is coordinated by the Relè office of Politecnico di Milano.

THE VENUE OF VILLA GRUMELLO is a historic Villa on Lake Como which hosts regular academic activities in all fields. Participating students are encouraged to find accommodation in Como, moreover light lunches will be provided to enable students to stay at the Villa during breaks.
